Tenants will be able to turn on Credit Builder after verifying their identity. From then on, each rent payment made on time is reported to the credit bureau.

Keep in mind that regardless of whether this option is enabled, missed rent payments can be reported to Equifax at the discretion of your landlord, so we encourage you to always pay rent on time.

No. It is the tenant's choice, and they verify their identity to turn it on. Credit Builder only decides whether on-time payments are reported. Missed rent can be reported at the landlord's discretion either way.
